Our History

We’re Cameron and Arlen - Co-Founders of Side Quest Games.

Cameron: I’m an art school grad with a passion for creating visually stunning game worlds. Arlen: I’m a business and entrepreneurship professional with a knack for making big ideas come to life. 

Our journey began over five years ago, fueled by our competitive spirit from lifeguard competitions (yep, it's as fun as it sounds) and our shared love for board games.

Our quest to create our first game, Food Coma, saw us brainstorming game ideas in bubble tea cafes and restaurants, dreaming up ways to blend strategy with sheer fun. The eureka moment happened amidst a flurry of scone crumbs in a coffee shop: what if there was a game about feeding your friends until they passed out in a food coma?! It was the perfect reflection of our fun-loving, creative, and slightly mischievous personalities.

Food Coma offers players a quick and fun culinary game filled with laughter, strategy, and a dash of cheekiness. In addition, all Food Coma's artwork has been meticulously hand-drawn by me (Cameron). It's our first of hopefully many games to come!

With a successful Kickstarter campaign for Food Coma under our belts, we've learned the ropes of game development, from exhilarating highs to educational lows. 

We've now launched Side Quest Games in Toronto, Canada. Our vision for Side Quest Games is to deliver exceptional gaming experiences that bring people together and keeps them coming back for more. Food Coma already embodies this vision. Whether you're a competitive gamer or just looking for a fun way to spend the evening with friends, we're committed to creating games that you'll reach for again and again.
